IITA — the International Institute of Technology & Aviation — was founded in the United Kingdom in 2012 with a single mission: to close the gap between classroom learning and the operational realities for the global aviation industry.

Today, with HQ in Lisbon, and offices London and Faro, and a growing network of industry partners across Europe, IITA delivers vocational and professional programmes that are built around what employers actually need — and what careers in aviation genuinely demand.

Our programmes are developed in alignment with EASA, ICAO, and IATA standards. Every course is designed by professionals who work in the industry, and every graduate enters the workforce with practical skills that translate directly to the ramp, the flight deck, the cargo hold, and the control room.

How IITA Trains the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals

Vocational Programmes for Future Aviation Professionals

Three-year vocational pathways with 600 hours of work experience, designed for students aged 14 – 21 years old and approved by the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation.

Professional Certificates for Working Aviation Specialists

Short-format programmes for adults already working in aviation — or moving into it. From 40-hour intensive to nine-month pathways, our certificates cover Cybersecurity in Aviation, Network Management, Aeronautical English, Advanced Air Cargo Oprations – Loadmaster, Flight Operations, and Recruitment preparation, among others. Built around current EASA, ICAO, and IATA standards, delivered in-class or online around your existing role.

Every IITA programme is delivered alongside a network of active aviation employers — including TAP Air Portugal, HiFly, JTM Group, JIT Airlines, DHL, Safeport, Mesa, among other partners across Europe — plus partner schools across mainland Portugal and the Azores. Our students complete optional industry placements with these partners, and many are offered direct employment with the same teams they trained alongside.
