A Loadmaster supervises and coordinates the loading, weight distribution, and securing of all cargo on board an aircraft — ensuring that every flight departs safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with international operational standards. The role covers load planning and mass & balance calculation, cargo acceptance and classification, dangerous goods handling, unit load device (ULD) management, and post-flight documentation.
No. IITA’s Advanced Loadmaster Training is designed for candidates with no prior aviation experience. The programme has been developed to comply with the applicable requirements of the latest version of the IATA Airport Handling Manual (AHM 1110) and the relevant sections of EASA Part CAT — EU Regulation 965/2012. The curriculum starts from first principles and builds to full operational competence.
The programme runs for 6 months, with 3 online sessions per week from 18:00 to 21:00 (GMT). The online delivery format is designed to accommodate working professionals and those in full-time education.
Yes — an optional one-month placement at an international air base is available as part of the programme. IITA actively supports students in identifying and securing placement opportunities within our industry partner network. The placement provides genuine operational experience in a live cargo environment and has been a significant factor in the strong employment outcomes of our graduates.
